Within context of nucleation theory and utilizing optical spectroscopy measurements at various temperatures the basic parameters entering nucleation equation (such as, for example, surface energy, resp. temperature dependent difference in chemical potentials) may be estimated.

We show that if the clusters flux density of nucleating system is interpreted in the sense of Onsager's nonequilibrium thermodynamics, the clusters being smaller than the so-called critical nucleus grow with negative velocity and, thus, they must dissolve in nucleating system.

Nucleation process in open and closed system is discussed. Basic characteristics of nucleation process (distribution function of nuclei, nucleation rate and total number of nuclei) are determined by numerical solution of kinetic equations.
